Healthy Cooking

(Completed I Project duration 2013 - 2017)

“Healthy Cooking” is a place to come together where people eat, laugh and talk with each other in connection with sustainable nutrition.  Based on simple, easy to replicate recipes, the participants are shown what it means to eat in a balanced and diverse manner. Additionally, the social aspect and mutual interactions play an important role.

“Healthy Cooking” is already held regularly in these municipalities:
  • Groß Enzersdorf
  • Heidenreichstein
  • Kilb
  • Langenzersdorf
  • Neulengbach
  • St. Valentin
  • Strengberg
  • Traiskirchen
  • Wiener Neustadt
  • Wolkersdorf
“Healthy Cooking” will be held regularly in the following municipalities starting in 2016:
  • Ernsthofen
  • Gänserndorf
  • Hadersdorf
  • Leobersdorf
  • Neulengbach
  • Perschling
  • Scheibbs

Process/execution

Healthy Cooking is held weekly around lunch time from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM. The respective municipality must provide for the necessary basic conditions like the location, kitchen and kitchen utensils.

An “inviter” invites people to the meeting and discusses the food that will be cooked with the participants, who will take over which part of the preparation of the food and finally, the schedule for cooking.  The dietitian from ARGEF, Lisa Peterlik, will accompany Healthy Cooking as an expert, provide scientific input and answer any nutrition-related questions the participants may have.
